Scratches and dents...? Why would they come with defects like that?

I have a Scratch & Dent from Dell.

It's a Dell Vostro 1500, great working condition.

The only Scratch & Dent I see on the notebook is a little bit of scratch near the bottom of the Express card slot (just a smudge, express card slot works).

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not. Obviously, thats why it is in Dell's outlet! Because of scratches and dents it is sold cheaper.
