->The official POST ABOUT YOUR NEW DELL NOTEBOOK thread. <-
Purchasing a new laptop is an exciting event. I'm sure many will agree it rivals or even exceeds the euphoria of buying a new car. Naturally you want to share your new baby and it's specs with all your friends, random people on the internet, and the entire world. Here is the official Dell Forum gloat thread to do it in. Feel free to post: pulling the trigger, your price, your specs, and your perceptions of your new notebook here.

Re: ->The official post about your new Dell notebook thread.<-
Yay first one.. well i got an E1505 with:
Intel Core Duo processor T2300E
15.4 Inch TrueLife Wide-screenWXGA,
1 gig of 533 MHz ram
ATI x1400
80 gig 5400 rpm HD
DVD/RW drive
Bluetooth
and all that other stuff that comes with an E1505.
all that for $952.01 shipped....
Ive had it for about two months, and so far i am very happy. After an initial reformat, and reinstall, everything runs smoother. Its fast, and it plays all the games i have thrown at it.

Ordered XPS M1210 w/ Merom. Excited!
$1370.88 after my EPP discount (-$57.12).
I'll post information about CPU temperature when I get my new m1210.
There was no option for Yonah when I customized my m1210, so I guess it'll be more difficult if you want a Yonah w/ lower price. (But I guess there'll be lots of "returned and new" w/ Yonah in the Dell outlet soon. probably people who ordered a Yonah in the past 21 days may want to return it for a Merom.
The wait for Merom is over, and the wait for Dell begins
Here are the specs:
Core 2 Duo T5600 1.86GHz w/ 2MB L2
XP Media Center (I own a copy of XP pro from my college)
No AV Package (No webcam or antenna)
1GB DDR2 667MHz (I'll upgrade myself)
NVIDIA Go7400 (256mb w/ turbocache)
60GB 5400RPM SATA (I have an external hard drive)
Integrated 10/100 (a bit disappointed, no Gigabit Ethernet option)
24X CD Burner/DVD combo Drive
Integrated Audio (without the Audigy software option)
Intel pro wireless 3945
Norton Internet Security '06 (w/ 15 month subsciption) (It is kinda annoying that I can't get rid of this, coz i use AVG free edition all the time)
85whr 9 cell battery (hopefully it wont explode)
1Yr Ltd Warranty.MBP(Penryn 2008): 8600mGT 256mb, 200GB, 2GB RAM, 15'' matte.
Previous:
MBP (SR 2007 Edition), Base model glossy.
XPS M1210, C2D T5600 1.86GHz, 2GB 667MHz DDR2, Go7400, 60GB 5400rpm.
HP ZD7000, P4 3.0GHz w/ HT, 1GB DDR, Go5600, 17'' WSXGA+, 60GB 7200rpm.

Well I'm a Dell customer again...*ambivalence*
Despite a spate of bad recent experiences with Dell, my latest PC purchase (12th overall now) was a XPS M1210. That makes it my 6th Dell PC for personal use. I guess I'm just a sucker for punishment. Almost went with the Asus W3J, but the better battery life and portability of the M1210 won out in the end. Sort of tough paying the same $ figure for a small screen and weaker GPU, but I guess in the laptop world that happens...
I do wish they had an option for zero hardware support/warranty. It's not like I'd ever attempt to deal with those guys again anyway...
BTW, orders today have a 9/12 ship date for M1210 with the Core 2 Duo.

How long are we talking? I've only had my M90 for a little over a month. That's pretty new to me. Specs are in sig and price was $1975 with a price-match deal from Dell.

It's not really 180 degrees, but it's a step in the right direction. Certainly something to look at if you have a GPU that can handle those crazy resolutions. Probably need a desktop for that kind of gaming.
