This is my first notebook and I really love it. Here it is.

    Dell 1720 (Blue) w/webcam
    T7500
    Glossy 1440 x 900
    128MB
    2GB ram
    160GB hard drive
    Dell wireless N
    Bluetooth
    8x DVD,CD burner
    9 cell battery
    3yr dell complete care
    ordered 10/01
    shipped 10/6
    recieved 10/10
    for $1147.00

Maybe I should have gotten the 256 video card but for my needs the 128 was more than enough for me. I really do enjoy using the notebook. I purchased a wireless n router and got the bluetooth adapter for my HP D7360 printer and it works great.

I got my Dell (in sig) yesterday and it decided not to turn on.

I rang them today and they said that they would send someone out either today or tomorrow. They didn't come today so I expect them to come tomorrow.

They think its the motherboard but I hope not

Well I seem to have had a rare but fortunate ordering experience.

I ordered a Inspiron 1720 on 10/24 and it was delivered yesterday, 10/31.

    Configuration:

    Black lid
    T7250 2.0GHz 2MB
    1920 X 1200 WUXGA screen
    1GB DDR2 <-- upgraded to 4GB for $160 from newegg
    Dual 160GB 5400RPM HDDs
    DVD +/- RW
    Extra AC adapter
Black/red laptop bag shipped separate, should arrive today even though it was scheduled not to ship till 12/10...

Everything listed above, $1100.10 after the $425 coupon + $160 memory from newegg. I think I got a killer deal and I absolutely love this screen. Things are tiny but text sizes can be adjusted and it's worth it for me, who does a lot of remote support and needs what amounts to a mobile dual-monitor setup.

    Well, I bought another Dell.

    Specs:
    Dell Inspiron 1501
    AMD Athlon 64 X2 TK-55
    1 GB RAM
80 GB 5400 RPM hard drive
    ATi Mobility XPress 1150
    9-cell battery
    Vista Home Premium

I know I could have gotten better stuff with the new Vostro or Inspirons, but I wasn't really that concerned about how pumped the computer was. I just wanted the cheapest I could get with long battery life, and from what I've read the 1501 has pretty awesome battery life. It had to be through Dell because I have a preferred account and couldn't have bought it otherwise. So far I'm pretty impressed.

Yeah, mine was supposed to ship on the 5th as well, but Dell has a knack for building and shipping early. In fact, I am typing on my new one right now

Bought a Dell (in sig), couldn't be happier. Ordered Oct. 24, received Oct. 30.

Perfect WSGA+ LG screen, smallish amount of middle bottom light-leakage on a blacksreen, even smaller from the middle top. After a terrifying first run of 3dmark05 (1460), I tweaked some things, got new drivers, and came in with much more reasonable scores on that and 3dmark06. (6000 and 3100, I think)

Ran BF2 at medium everything on whatever is closest to 1280x960 -- smooth and clean. Didn't try high, maybe I will later.

My only gripes come from a train wreck of Vista and EA/Battlefield 2. Gotta run the game as an admin with User Account Control off, on the same account you installed it on. Wasted several hours trying to figure that one out, and luckily there are pieces of the puzzle on the net.

Maybe I'll try reviewing it along with all the accessories I got.
