Re: Dell Vista Laptop Reformat and Bloatware Removal Guide
IMO, this has more to do with making your laptop run better w/o bloatware than it is about the 10gb of recovered disc space. I don't care about that 10gb - I want a lean, clean running machine.

Is there a way to reformat a Dell Inspiron E1705 without the CDs that came with it, I ask because I am a college student and unable to get them from home. on the computer i have a recovery partition, but i've been unable to figure out how to reformat the computer without the CDs.
Thanks,

Re: Dell Vista Laptop Reformat and Bloatware Removal Guide
Can't you just burn new ones from the recovery partition (I could on my Toshiba and my Vaio, but I don't have my Dell yet)?
The neat thing about this whole process is that even if you mess up, you can start all over with your recovery disc's! I think even Les said it here or elsewhere that he did it a few times.

Re: Dell Vista Laptop Reformat and Bloatware Removal Guide
Hi darthsat,
Thanks for the reply and clarifications.
Is there anyway to image both the OS and Recovery partition so that in the event of reloading everything back the factory delivered settings? I would want to go ahead and try out Les guide but also wanna take a back up of what I have currently.
Will Acronis be able to perform the above?

How long does it take for vista to reinstall? it just keeps coming up with Dell screen with the bar filling up and starting over again.
