Before I order my Dell INSPIRON 1520 today...
Heyy all,
So i'm planning on ordering my laptop today with these features:
Intel(R) Core(TM)2Duo Processor T5250
1.5 GHz, 2MB Cache, 667 MHz FSB
Genuine Windows Vista(TM) Home Premium
15.4" Widescreen WXGA+ (1440x900) Display with TrueLife(TM)
2GB (2 X 1024MB) 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM
NVIDIA(R) GeForce(TM) 8600M GT with 256MB GDDR2 dedicated graphic memory
120GB SATA Hard Drive
Internal 8X DVD+/-RW Combination Drive with dual layer write capabilitiesÂ
Dell(TM) Wireless 355 Bluetooth Module
Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945 Dual Band 802.11a/g 54Mbps Wireless Mini Card
Flamingo Pink Color with Microsatin Finish
6-cell 53Whr Lithium Ion Primary BatteryÂ
The unit price is $1,189.00 , but there's a promotion sale going on until tomorrow which deducts $240... so final price before taxes is about $950 CDN
Okay, so question time:
i've been looking all over the web for promotion codes/coupons, and i've found a few that say $50 CDN or $100 CDN off of your Inspiron 1520 purchase, but when i enter the code it does not work, is this because there is already a promotion sale on it and that it cannot be combined with any other discounts? if anyone has been successful with getting a discount (from a canadian site) please share your links :P
For those of you who have already bought your 1520, is it really that bulky/heavy as they say it is.. so would it be difficult for me to carry around in school every now and then?
Is it true that if you purchase your dell laptop via telephone or go to their direct stores...it's cheaper there?
Okies thanks a lot... o P.S, has anyone got the pink flamingo color..?

The coupons for Canada you see floating around ATM are most likely expired.
Although they might say they are still good they usually won't be.
I ordered yesterday and compiled a list of various coupons for Canada I saw floating around and they were all redundant. The best thing would be to call a Dell CSR and ask them to try the codes.

Just a bit of a tip, the 1440x900 is supposed to be one of the grainy screens. If you're worried about that, you may want to stick with the 1280x800.
I would compare the weight to a textbook. It is, at most, a pound and a half heavier than the MBP, which was designed to be sleek and light for its class.Dell Inspiron 1520

Intel Core 2 Duo T7300, 2.0GHz, 800Mhz, 4M Cache

15.4 inch Wide Screen WXGA+ (1440x900)
256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
