It will be better if you guys called after the order was shipped and recieved. I can see why some of the reps are balking at issuing credit before hand.

Also, if a Dell rep declines your request dont get mad, just be cool and ask immediately for a supervisor.

Yeah, I don't even know why you're all asking for money if your laptop hasn't reached you and you haven't personally been able to see that it indeed is clocked lower.

That would be like me going into Walmart, telling a salesperson that the TV on display isn't as good as the specs and I expect to be able to buy it for 50% off...

Yeah, I doubt it as well - it wouldn't make any sense for Dell to procure multiple performance levels of the same advertised hardware - however my point stands. Until you actually get the product and see for yourself that your specific model is not as advertised, you have no grounds for the complaint.

Uh... That wouldn't work. Why can't I ask for credit? They already charged me; I paid already. I have the right to ask for it.

You can also cancel your order or refuse shipment still, and Dell would be out $100.

I've been wondering the same thing?? Can we use the same argument if we buy the 1420??

Well I got my 1520 and the 8600m GT is underclocked. It's amazing how starved it is. I overclocked the RAM by only 40MHz and it kicked my doom 3 timedemo up from 59 to 64 frames per second.
    The more rep the better!
