Re: Dell Satisfaction Poll
XPS M1330; T9300, 4GB, 320GB, LED, +++
Runs great, Dbl boot XP PRO SP3 and SUSE 10.3
Great for programmers. Got rid of Vista right away.
XP and Linux both installed with minimal device handling.
Everything works as good as it could.
I figured by this time the kinks should have been worked out with the M1330.
I heard too many horror stories from the first puppies that came out as M1330's.
My toy was made in Malaysia. And took less than the two weeks stated from order date.
When prices come down I will upgrade to the fastest CPU that will work with this motherboard. This should last a year or two at least in good shape.Spiritual Warrior

Re: Dell Satisfaction Poll
I'm satisfied but with regrets.
I got my 1530 latop and everything was perfect. No problems for a month when I had a little accident and the lid plastic got damaged. It was an insignificant fault but aesthetically not acceptable.
I was even suprised Dell decided to actually repair that saying that the warranty covers that. I was pleased. The cuustomer service representative were all very helpful, and proffessional on the phone. They arranged service two days later.
Unfortunately, the technician that came was a incompetent and broke a microswitch responsible for turning off the laptop with a lid closing.
On top of that he couldn't assemble the laptop, he broke fe plastics and left the hinges wobbling. The second technician that was called to fix ( what the first one had broken) made it even worse. That one was also bad-mannered and clearly must have had some brain disfunction as he acted like an idiot-rock star.
I asked for a replacement and they processed it immediately. I got a new latop only after two days after the claim.
CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS VERY HELPFUL but
DELL'S TECHNICIANS are DANGEROUS!!! BE CAREFULL.
THESE GUYS ARE AMATEURS AND MAKE THINGS WORSE THAN THEY ARE.
ACTUALLY THEY ARE THIRD PARTY COMPANIES CONTRACTED BY DELL.
I will insist on making a complaint against them.

Re: Dell Satisfaction Poll
Nowhere does Dell say that they will send a Dell technician to your house. I'm not trying to argue with you, I'm just saying that Dell openly admits that they contract wtih 3rd party companies to give you technical support. No company has technicians everywhere around the world. There's no way they could afford that.

Re: Dell Satisfaction Poll
Im satisfied with my purchase but wish that dell would start offering some quality material for their screens and touchpads, etc. the sound is also only mediocre. Problem wise, mine came with a broken webcam that had to be sent in for replacement. Its working well now, but i still have regrets.

Re: Dell Satisfaction Poll
I would like to change my vote to "yes but I have regrets".
I ordered a new Vostro 1500. It was a dud as it appeared it was put together by a drunk monkey. I called Dell and they said they would build me another one. The replacement unit appears to me as if it's a refurbed system and not a new unit. There are blemishes on certain parts of the laptop.
I also have an annoying ac adapter message which pops up intermittently saying it's a 65W adapter and I need a 90W to properly charge the battery.
The next Dell system I buy will go back if it doesn't look right or has problems. I will never request a new exchanged unit because now I know they send out refurbed systems under the guise of being brand new.

Re: Dell Satisfaction Poll
i have owned dell 4 desk tops and 7 laptops, 4 i still have now, overall great machines, i have owned lots of other brands of other computers and some home made too, and i obviously like dell enough to only buy from them. warranty's are always great, sometimes tough to get service but no other brand is perfect either
