Can't remove water marks
Hi,
I was wondering if anybody else has trouble with water stains on their keyboard. Whenever I get water on the silver surface of the keyboard, wiping it off seems to leave a mark where the spot appears lighter than the rest of the keyboard. Does anybody know to remove the discoloration?
Thank you.

Re: Can't remove water marks
For one, i'd say your laptop is uber dirty. Take a wet rag and wipe it across your keyboard and see if that works.
Two, you should really post what laptop you're referring to, as this subforum uses XPS's ranging from desktop form factor to laptop form factor, and ranges from XPS m1330's to XPS 17's.
Come back with results on how it turned out

Re: Can't remove water marks
Hi Gokou,
Thanks for your reply. The laptop I'm referring to is a Dell XPS L702X. I try to keep it as clean as possible. I often wipe it down with a microfiber cleaning cloth and distilled water. The problem is sometimes I get water on the surface of the keyboard and when I wipe it down, those spots are noticeably visible. It's kind of discolored from the rest of the surface. I couldn't find a fix for this, so I was looking for some advice.
Thank you again.

Re: Can't remove water marks
i gotcha kprime. I've had water droplets on my laptop all the time, but it's never happened to me before. What kind of water do you have at the house? Is it distilled water also? Or is it hard water in your house? Hard water might leave a stain.
Otherwise, only thing I can say is bite the bullet and pray your keyboard somehow breaks so you get a new one

Re: Can't remove water marks
Hi Gokou,
It's just water from washing my hands or sometimes a drop of bottled water that gets on my keyboard. I guess I'll just have to live with it, lol.
Thanks for your help.Last edited by kprime; 21st May 2012 at 07:49 PM.
