They are waiting on Intel to release the rest of the Ivy Bridge processors...which is slated for sometime in June (late June IIRC) right now. Hence July.

Yes, I know the difference. And I'm afraid about IDLE (fan noise) not load.

The fan on idle was whisper quiet, even when browsing the net. Dont worry, even under load the quality of the speakers easily drained the fan noise out.

The i7s were released recently, yes, but not the i5 chips which will be a large chunk of sales with these machines, as they were last year.

    Hopefully, because I've just bought one (i7, 8GB, 500GB, GT555, DVD-RW, FHD)

I've heard some bad opinions about system noise in this laptop (especially with fan starting and stoping every few minutes, sometimes seconds). Don't remember about the temperature however I have bad memories about this in my previous model - XPS 1645 (which is very warm under keyboard).

    I hope l702x will be better :-)

Well you may be right but it is still going to be offered I'd wager. HP just announced release dates of July 25 for the DV-series, I'd imagine a similar date for Dell.

The l702x is not really bad on temps for a laptop. Nothing like the 1645 series, there are many here who switched last year and commented on how much better it is in cooling. Now, it is still a laptop and running it full out it will still get warm (some would say hot, but it is more of just warm to me, even on the WASD keys which are basically right over the CPU/GPU heatsink), but it won't burn your hands on the outside of the case.

lol, still nothing, dell is losing competition. The hp envy 17 and 15 has been announced with ivy bridge. So is EVERY other laptop that is supposed to get an update with ivy bridge.
