well, hwmonitor doesnt OC the card as far I know, but MSI and EVGA software does ^^

anyway just raising the core without using the GPU doesnt produce a huge heat, for example, my GPU is on 700 mhz now, 0% ussage and it is on 57º

lets hope the motherboard replacement do something, else you will have to repaste by yourself, I doubt some tecknicians spent all care, time and effort on our machines like we do
that is why I wanted to fix the temp issues by myself even the system were on warranty by taking appart the lappy

Umm I know that..I was talking about temp monitoring. EVGA also monitors GPU temps but it continuously uses GPU while HW Monitor accesses GPU after every 1 sec gap. If I keep HW Monitor opened for 30 secs, the same issue occurs but 20-25 secs later than any GPU using application.

mmm, not sure but it definitly sounds like a bad phisical contact between GPU and heatsink,if before it was ok and now after just 20 secconds of ussage it runs on fire, there is something wrong with it.

well, I never called dell, so I dont know how they work on repairs, did you noticed if he used thermal paste? wich one?

Yes, I do actually. A Zalman ZM-NC3000U. I think temperutures on the CPU cores are some 3 degrees lower, 4 at the most.

I'm looking for a cooling pad for my L502X that can provide great cooling to my laptop. I've seen reviews of Cooler Master U2 an U3. U2 is smaller than U3 and has 2 adjustable fans while U3 has 3. Since I've 9 cell battery, I can't go for these two as I've already got the elevation by the protrudred battery. Moreover I've heard that U2 and U3 aren't comfortable for lap due to the design. There's Targus Chillmat but I don't know good is it for the L502X. I'm looking for a good cooling pad that doesn't have elevation and its fan placement is perfect for L502X vents. Any suggestions?

Hi all. I have a problem can you help me fix it. I have acer aspire 5742g laptop gpu 540M, and I want to up 540m GPU voltage to 1V. I do same like shown here: Acer aspire 5742g vga bios volt mod (hun) - YouTube .And it would seem that everything is managed:

But when I overclock 540m, voltage back to 0.98. In stocks clock voltage 1v when I OC 0.98v Whay?

And for you there change when modint gpu bios?

PS: is worth of replace a 720p for the 1080p screen?
I heard everyone is talking very nice of the screen, but I dont know about the total cost of the parts, I think I need two parts, the screen panel itself and the full-hd internal cable

As someone who just yesterday made that switch...yes, it's worth it, do it.

Capitankasar, I tried your bios 0,83/0,85v, but I didn't save my old one and now my fan is spinning constantly on the quietest stage, yet annoying, and it consumes more power. What can be the reason for this and could you send me the original bios with factory settings as it was? PLS, if you can, send it, I can't stand this fan any more, not to speak about power consumption.
i5-2430m, gt540m 2 gb. Merci beaucoup

By the way, when I open some application, concerning nvidia card like nvidia control panel or gpu-z, fan stops spinning...

if you want to go back to original bios, use the flash_original_bios.bat file wich came with the package, the procedure is the same and you will go back to original bios ^^
