Re: Dell XPS 17 (L702x) Thread
I have the ability to see 3 kinds of screens together and actually use them all here in my house all on XPS17 L702s.... Once you use the others and then compare it to an AG screen side by side you can see how the thicket coating really effects how the visuals on the screen look. Its really noticeable on movies or editing pics in my opinion
BTW-Not all mine but mine and ones I bought my kids...

this is off topic from your statement, but why do you have 3 L702's?

Re: Dell XPS 17 (L702x) Thread
I always had to buy all my stuff growing up too...LOL
They both got them and some of their other stuff like Horses, 4 wheelers and 1st car all under a deal....
I made a deal with them early on that if they could maintain 3.8 grades constantly in Jr HS and HS we would " Fund " their stuff as long as they did. Both maintained over 4.0+ GPA in Advance Gifted classes and BOTH graduated top of their individual graduating classes. They have both gone onto MBA degrees and son is leaving for Army in Aug. I figured if I could give them a little incentive to get a early head start in life it was well worth the funds spent....I did take things away over the yrs too but am very proud of the people they became in the process...It would have been cheaper over the yrs for me never to have made the deal though..
It also ends the day they get their college degree though or in sons case the day Uncle Sam gets him for next 8 yrs...

Re: Dell XPS 17 (L702x) Thread
LOL Phyxius, you seem like a great father. Wish my father was a quarter of the man like you. I've had to buy my own stuff from the early age of 14 and on. My own laptop, my own cars. My only support through school is my mother and my family (yes, my family... my aunt who owns a few stores helped me out with school for a bit).
I don't know but I think my father feels no shame in being cheap with his kid.
I've come out a better person anyways with the support of my mother's side of the family. I currently own a $60k lexus, a 1700$ laptop, my own place, etc. etc. So I'm fine holding my own

Re: Dell XPS 17 (L702x) Thread
Hi Guys,
i have the Dell XPS 17 L702x with the CMO1720 display (FullHD AG).
Do you have a calibration file for this display? I have found one on notebookcheck for the Dell M6600 which has the same Display. However the display looks yellowish with this calibration.

Re: Dell XPS 17 (L702x) Thread
Thanks for the compliment..Even with our giving, my kids both still worked 30 hrs a week at jobs while in school to pay for all the others items they had or wanted. We didnt give them everything they wanted...Kind of hard to drive a car with no money for gas or insurance

There are a few files for calibration in this screen swapping thread in the first few pages. I got a few files to try for ours in there but dont know if any CMO ones are in it. Its worth a look and not too many pages to look through before you see them.
