I did not get the popup saying that the device can perform faster. I double checked which Renesas drivers were present and they were 2.0.34.0 from 2/10/2011.

So my next question is, how the holy heck do I use the factory.wim file that's on the HDD, but restore it to my SSD? I have tried a lot of different things to get it to work, but it won't let you manually choose the image file, it "scans" and never detects them. I even tried putting the image file on an external hard drive, which is supposed to be possible, but it must be looking for some specific recovery structure that isn't there.

Any ideas? After using this SSD for a few weeks, I really would hate to go back to HDD. The other alternative is just to live without USB 3.0. :/
Would you consider doing a completely new installation of windows? to get everything redone step by step? Maybe it will help

EDIT: Last hope... try this https://rapidshare.com/files/9608154....1.28.0_PV.exe

I did a completely fresh install of windows on my SSD when I first got the computer. (took the factory HDD out and put the SSD in). It was why I first joined the forum since I had trouble getting all the drivers sorted. (my express code didn't seem to register the right way on the dell site).

Really right now I have everything working except the darned USB 3.0.

    Isn't 2.1.27.0 available? - that's what I have (on an XPS 15)

Dam guys, this is a sad day. Im thinking of selling my l702x and then build a desktop which would probably be of equal or more power with the money i make from it. My reasons: I do love the l702x and think it is a awesome machine, but i do not use it as a laptop, since ive had it, it has never moved from my desk. This is making me think why dont i just build a desktop which is upgradeable and a bit cheaper? Im still undecided but im very close.

What are everyones thoughts on my situation? If i were to sell it i could transfer the warranty couldnt i? via a form i think you fill in. And would i sell it with the ssd or move it to the desktop?

move it to the new desktop. How much were you planning on selling it? Keep in mind it's not certified so it's gotta be cheaper than what Dell sells at on their outlet sales. It is sad, but it is what it is, I'm not very happy with my L702x sometimes too, wish I went with a 15 or 14in instead, but the graphics quality and the fact that i can game the laptop on minor games easily keeps me happy.

Well going by prices on ebay from what people are selling them at, im pretty sure i could sell it between £750-£850 maybe a bit lower. 2 years NBD warranty will be a good selling point. It is a fantastic machine but i feel im wasting its potential just sitting in one place all the time. Tbh if i was buying another laptop of similar power today, i'd probably go for the m14x so i could actually move around with it. And with my job situation currently staying in one place, its not like i need to travel with it.

Also considering the main thing i use it for is probably gaming i feel i will get frustrated in the future when i want something more powerfull.

    Hi All,

Having recently obtained an L702X from the Dell Outlet UK, I've been lurking on this thread for the last 2 weeks or so, and have picked up a lot of useful tips too, so thanks all for the help so far.

As my laptop didnt come with a TV Tuner, today I fitted the Avermedia H339 (4C72K) along with pigtail antenna connector and have installed the drivers. However, windows has detected the card in device manager as ATSC even though I installed the DVB-T drivers from the Dell website. When I attempt to scan for channels in Media Centre (having the card connected directly to my Aerial) it only seems to want to search for Analouge channels, not digital, and as Analogue has recently been switched off in my area, it doesnt find anything. I cant see any options to get it to search for DVB-T, which I'm assuming is because it is being picked up as a ATSC card.

I have checked the part number on the card and can confirm it is 4C72K, every mention of this part number I can find quotes it as being DVB-T.

So I guess my question is, is there something I am doing wrong in terms of configuration, or do I have an incorrect part number?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers
    Tom.
