I would upgrade to BIOS version 16. Helped my laptop, seems to play better with the hardware. No fan problems.

just download and run. you will have to be plugged in to a power source to run it.

Might be worth switching to MSACHI driver and rerunning the test as I think I've seen faster results for that driver but williing to be proved wrong.

Did I get a good deal?

I am concerned that some on this thread weren't happy with the laptop they received from the Outlet and ended up sending it back. Others received faulty laptops which were replaced with brand new systems! - so I am unsure as to whether I am or am not doing the right thing buying from the Dell Outlet?

What do you guys think?

Finally got my XPS 17 from the Dell Outlet, i previously go sent one that arrived with a broken screen and they eventually replaced it with a brand new one!

I have a few questions though, firstly the touchpad, how can i get it to scroll up/down in a browser? my last one would let me scroll by sliding my finger along the right edge of the touchpad but this one doesn't do anything.

Also, what would be the top 5 important updates/maintenence things i should do straight away?
So far i've updated everything the Dell Update program has reccomended and i then updated the system using the Windows Update program.

Should i update the BIOS? not sure how to do that!

Can't seem to download the newest A17 bios from dells website. It gives me a 404 - file not found
