Re: Dell XPS 17 (L702x) Thread
I just don't understand it, no one else I know has this problem. I can't change anything to do with the modems as I'm connecting to wireless networks that I don't own (the college, the house I stay at) but I never have the problem with my old HP.
Has it got to do a faulty wireless card in my laptop? Can I bring the problem to dell?

Re: Dell XPS 17 (L702x) Thread
Thanks, Yeah course i can. Took the default alienware wallpaper then customised it in photoshop to suit an xps, ive got green, blue and red ones which change every 30 secs. The text at the bottom actually says XPS L702x in alienware language

The bar is a program called rocket dock, About RocketDock - RocketDock.com
what would be the best way to share it? i suppose i can upload and add as attachments on here? also got custom logon screens too if you want those and i use custom start up sounds
EDIT the attachment manager isnt working atm so i'll try again laterLast edited by Sam_A_1992; 3rd March 2012 at 08:36 AM.

Re: Dell XPS 17 (L702x) Thread
its entirely normal to get those spikes of 'cpu usage' because the cpu clocks itself down in idle to conserve battery and clocks up when required.
what your seeing is the usage at the base clock which is usually only around 500mhz, which isnt much. background tasks will make use of this base clock so you will occasionally see it spike like that.
the usage at that clock doesnt matter because the cpu is downclocked and operating at lower voltage at the same time so using hardly any power.
check CPU-Z to confirm this.
