Well, it worked fine for me though. One more thing, I have managed to purchase 4x8GB Patriot DDR3 SODIMM and it worked wonders on the XPS 17 though...

No problem. I have tried using the MBP 15 and it does not give me the power which I need. On top of that, I can't upgrade the cpu as it is soldered on the motherboard! This is so uncool.

Anyway, there is NO need to get 32GB as it is an overkill. I have tried running Futuremark on it and I can't finish using all the memory. I think 16GB is sufficient...

I think I am going to get another Dell XPS 17 but I might wait for Ivy Bridge instead...

What are peoples system ratings? Mine's only 4.6, lowest being the graphics. I'm pretty sure this used to be a lot higher before a clean install.

Is that your gaming graphics that's 6.9? What's your normal Graphics?

I have a factory xps 17 with bios A14, I was wondering if I would have the latest drivers and if there was anyway to check if any needed updating.

If everything is working OK then I would suggest to leave things as they are. My belief is that if it's not broken then there's no need to update drivers unless there is some major performance boost that you are going to get from them.

You might want to look at the latest nVidia beta drivers as some are saying that they gave a bit of a gaming boost but other than that your current set of drivers should be fine.
