Re: Dell XPS 17 (L702x) Thread
Which link are you talking about? This one: Newegg.com - Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Laptop Memory Model KHX1600C9S3K2/8GX
That has a CAS of 9.
The only one I see (from NewEgg) in the 1333MHz and above that has a CAS of 7 is this one:

Re: Dell XPS 17 (L702x) Thread
Does anyone know if the XPS 17 will support two external monitors at the same time?
It has one HDMI and one mini Displayport, but it doesn't say anywhere if both can be used at the same time?
I had a Studio 14 with both ports, but it would only let you use one or the other.

Back to displays... We know already that the HD+ panel is the LG LP173WD1, which many L701X users replaced on their own (link). Would any 3D screen owner care to check the model of their panel? Thanks!
Yes, I recall someone confirming to have used two external displays (one via HDMI and one via miniDP) plus the internal one.

No worries... the only thing that makes me mad is Intel doesn't list the specs on the HM67 chipset -- Mobile Intel® HM67 Express Chipset
We know the i7-2720QM and above processor will support 1600MHz ram... just need to know the specs on the chipset.

Don't forget 6% Quidco Cashback (Before VAT) which will get you an additional £41.52 saving on that setup.

As for a 12.5mm hdd I'm pretty sure that it won't fit, just get a Samsung 640GB HDD for now and buy the Samsung 1TB 9.5mm HDD when it comes out (currently in development).

Re: Dell XPS 17 (L702x) Thread
I ordered the 2720qm on mine because my work involves database development and the extra speed will be useful when I load buckets full of data on all 4 cores...
But for games, office apps, web surfing etc, I think the 2630 is great and more than enough, it's about 50% faster in benchmarks than similarly positioned models from the previous generation. IMO it's probably wiser to put the money on an SSD.
