Tried Resident Evil 3D, experience is quite nice both an 3D screen and also on my Acer H5360 (nVidia 3D capable projector)... although Dell put a very disappointing IR emitter, very directional. Will work perfect to watch on the 3D screen, but I had to buy a separate nVidia IR emitter for watching on projector (since I am not facing the laptop screen). The nVidia IR emitter is very powerful and omni-directional.

One caveat of 3D: reflective screen and the reflective back surface of glasses make it necessary that your "background" is a bit dark, otherwise you will get headache because of reflections.

Flash full screen (youtube etc.) ending in a grinding halt (3D capable nVidia 555M, Win 7 Professional), anyone else having same problem?

edit: Disabling hardware acceleration in Flash settings circumvents the problem, so this is a graphics driver issue. Reminds me of the brightness problem… don’t know that? Give you a heads-up: If you own a 3D screen, and update to BIOS version A07, you must update graphics driver to A07 or your brightness controls wont work.

    Best regards.

I wish I could have gotten the 3D option, but it would have been useless for me, as I can`t see it. I have strabismus. Which sucks........am so envious of you 3D gamers.......

Can someone please clarify as to whether the touchpad on the L702X is multitouch? I recall someone saying it was not, or that it also depended on the configuration such as the 2 or 4 RAM slots.

    Thanks!

The touchpad on the L702X is multitouch and it does not depend on whether you have 2 DIMM slots or 4 DIMM slots.

eBay/PayPal fees are out of control, but this type of selling is not ethical and I suspect someone is going to be banned soon. At any rate, begining this month (April), eBay will start applying the final value fee to the shipping as well, which will further suck legit sellers dry, but also combat the type of marketing we see here.

    Scott-
I do believe that eBay/Paypal fees are unethical and I have written a complaint to eBay. I am awaiting their reply.

No need though. The problem is that some XPS 17 users found their system to be more noisy or degraded performance after using an SSD as the primary HDD and the Dell HDD as secondary HDD. I do not find Dell HDD to suck. It is so much better than the HDD on my HP 6540b...

Then put the new drive in the bracket from the HDD-2 slot and slip it into the HDD-1 slot?

    Thanks!
    They are interchangeable!

To cut a long story short dell are replacing my 01x with a 02x, and they have said they will be collecting my machine by the end of next week (should be the 8th) and after that my new laptop will be delivered (got this email on the 28th). But is what this guy is saying correct? they haven't given me a date and its awkward to make sure im at home from work etc. Should i be given a date? Thanks for any responses.

You should get your replacement unit before having your current laptop being returned to Dell. Dell should not expect customers to work without their laptop. I have just gone through a replacement process and I did make sure that I will receive the new unit before my current unit being taken away.

Thanks so much for your reply. How would I do that - are there instructions somewhere? Does it involve rewiring?

    Thanks!

You can configure those for much less directly through Dell. Why even bother?

Running fullscreen hd videos on you tube fine here. I`m using the 270.51 nvidia drivers from their site.
