Re: Swap HDD bracket & slot?
The Momentus XT works great in mine... 15 sec boot time and epic system performance.
Other than the "uglies" the system works reeeeeealllly nice. It smokes my Toshiba by quite a bit. The cooling must be better or something. It may be the 12GB ram too, but those are the only real differences... I have been playing with the audio system and it is first class. Never heard anything like this on a laptop. It has BASS!!!!

The 3D gaming kicks butt so far too... They better give me a 2820QM and a bit more ram for my troubles...
They interchange. I did it today personally.
The best thing is that the Toshiba had almost all the same hardware so "reinstalling" this computer when it got here took all of about 15 min... Gonna run the Windows Experience Index now... Then 3D mark 06...Dell XPS17 | i7-2630QM | GT555M | 12GB DDR1333 | 1TB 2x500 Momentus XT Hybrid | 1080p 3D | BluRay | Boots in 17 Seconds

Re: Dell XPS 17 (L702x) Thread
Actually, is it $1,399 shipping...
eBay/PayPal fees are out of control, but this type of selling is not ethical and I suspect someone is going to be banned soon. At any rate, begining this month (April), eBay will start applying the final value fee to the shipping as well, which will further suck legit sellers dry, but also combat the type of marketing we see here.

Re: Dell XPS 17 (L702x) Thread
Mine came with the 3D screen and the GT555M for that price...
Oh and I had a set of glasses stashed away in my shop for a rainy day
That day was today...
