Hello! I have read through all 98 pages thus far (I was bored ) and can definitely appreciate all the useful information on all aspects so far. I have a quick question if anyone could lend any suggestions.

Edit: Easier way to ask question. Can I use the recovery OS disk you buy from Dell to install Win7 on the SSD?

So the CPU can be swapped? that's great news! I was going to buy it with the 2720 but here in Italy the cost was incredible high (from 2630 from 2720 it's 200€!)...

Affirmative!!! I've got my hands dirty and opened the casing with the help of Scott from this forum. It was great! I could replace the 2630qm to a better cpu but it is just too expensive for the 2820qm at the moment and the only way to get one is purchasing one from ebay and the seller is from Taiwan... Oh well...

Have you tried reloading the QuickSet driver? A07 works fine on my side.

Well, I played Crysis for an hour or so but I've not had any problems with the heat from the palm rest area though. However, due to the fact that the speakers are situated close to where my palm rest area, I could not hear the full effect of the 2.1 channel sound. Pity.

What's your memory capacity? 4/8/12 GB?

And I'm still wondering about how best to install the RAM:

Stock dell is 4 + 2 and I've got some 2x4GB Kingston Hyper-X to install, so I'm shooting for 14GB total. My question is, how are the DIMM slots configured (never dealt with 4 DIMM slots before)?

Is it:

|__b__|__b__|

or is it:

|__a__|__b__|
|__a__|__b__|

You can't. It will disable the video totally. The nvidia gpu runs through the intel gpu then to the screen.

There are also UK vendor, but the price is prohibitive: 350 € for the NON ES sample (Engineering Sample).... glad to know we can do that however

6GB. I am assuming it is 1x4GB plus 1x2GB
