i am a little confused. The latest bios for the i7+5730 XPS16 is A12. Why is the modded bios based on A09?
Thx

Re: BIOS modding for GPU OC fun and profit!!
uhh, i flashed the "A-10 1647 mild clock" perfectly, but it still has the gpu 84c throttle limit. can you use the a-07 bios with the same mild clocks cuz i know that that bios doesn't have a gpu throttle limit.
also, does the bios menu allow you to change the gpu temp limit or disable it?Last edited by acftw; 28th February 2011 at 03:44 AM.

Re: BIOS modding for GPU OC fun and profit!!
I hadn't had anybody complain yet of GPU throttling with the 1647. If you're experiencing problems with a 4670, I can use the A07 vBIOS (the same as the 1645 A09) instead. That only applies to the 4670 though. Also, it does still have a limit, it was just raised to 95C instead of 84C.

Re: BIOS modding for GPU OC fun and profit!!
I have yet to make any progress, and I have a lot going on this week so I'm short on time to play around with it. I might have to wait until a newer version of NiBiTor comes out that recognizes the BIOS. I'll check back in a week and let you know, but don't expect much before then, sorry. I just wanted to let you know in case you're still waiting.

Re: BIOS modding for GPU OC fun and profit!!
Hey Seeker,
I've been following this thread for a while now, thought i'd tell you that I really loved the way the whole thing was explained, made over-clocking reaallly easy!
Thanks alot for that.
Right now i'm running Ocd at the Mild clocks, and was wondering if you could make one similar to yours, maybe 800/1000 with all the intermediate steps.
My temps never exceed 85C, I dono why, I was expecting them to soar waay above that, but guess it's a good thing
Also, I was wondering what kind of a performance boost does the overclock actually deliver in games?
personally I didn't noticed much difference in my games with the mild over-clock. Do you guys even over-clock for gaming? or just for the thrill?
I'd like to see my games run faster, thats all
Oh great, i'm new to the forum, and expected that info thing to come attached..
well anyway I have a 5730.
So please try to make the Bios
Thanks
