It seems that you are right according to this:

As long as it works, it's OK.

....Interesting, I have the same as this guy claims he has RGBLED:
Laptop Forums and Notebook Computer Discussion
And the old LCD I had was posted here:
Dell Studio XPS 16 - RGBLED screen please help

Must be a difference between them!

I think you do have the RGB-LED, because I have it and I just used HWinfo to confirm:

    Under "General Information" mine says:

    Monitor Name: Samsung 184HT
    Monitor Name (Manufacturer): 160HT [Dell P/N: M077D]
    Monitor Hardware ID: Monitor\SEC5448

Then under "Advanced Parameters", Display Type is RGB Color. So I think codred2, you do have the famous RGBLED. Maybe try placing other screens next to it and if this screen pwns those, then you have confirmed it . Or just use HWinfo and see if we came out with the exact same thing. For the most part we seem to match based on the information you provided already. So congratz you have a sweet screen, I can attest to that.

Now I'm about to put a 256GB OCZ SSD I got on sale into this bad boy to give it an injection of speed. SSD virgin here so I'm frickin' excited!

P.S. BTW codred2 that first link you put up ("LCD E2E - 1CJ45") has a virus or virus-like entity associated with it because Norton just saved my butt from something that tried to attack my system when I clicked on it. Be warned.

I just removed the link. I am so sorry about it. I just googled the LCD type and came out that link. I know the Malwarebyte and Superantispyware warned me regarding the virus and caught it, but I was opening three pages at the same time and I thought that this one is cleaned. I tried to open it second and third time and nothing. I do not know why my Emsisoft Antimalware did not say anything.

...Regarding the screen, I noticed that the colours are far too bright, compared with the 1537 LCD screen.
The brightness of it is set to just 30%, even so is more than enough.
I am thinking to get Crucial M4 256 or Samsung 830 256 SSD to max the speed of it.
I just got Hynix 8gb Ram, but I am thinking to pair one of 4gb with 2gb Hynix I have. they work great and dual channel and other 6gb sell them. I do not need more that 6gb.
I opened a lot of pages, burning with alcohol 120%, converting a video avi file, scanning with AV the system, Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom 4.1 opened and other stuff.....and I hit max 4.5 ram out of 6gb, so 8gb no use!
I have two batteries 9 cell, I want to swap one of them with 6 cell if I can find somebody....traveling is too big.

No need to apologize, glad it was discovered. The way these web pages/sites can just embed these things waiting to pounce on your system is crazy.

Yea the screen on the RGBLED is very bright! I run mine only on half brightness and it's more than bright, rivaling many-a-screens. Only run it on full when I'm gaming, but any other time I think I could appropiately descibe it as being way too bright. But I'm not complaining .

As for SSDs, those two you're considering are good choices based on the research I had myself do before buying mine. I'd probably recommend the Samsung 830 256GB more as it's solid all round. It would have been my alternative choice, as Newegg had it on sale last week for about $190 but I missed it. I decided to go with the OCZ Vertex 4 256GB, for several reasons. Firstly, OCZ ventured away from what seemed to be the buggy SandForce controllers with this line of SSDs, so that made my decision easier. Supposedly the SF bugs have been mostly fixed but SF controllers seem to compromise in certain other areas (compressed data performance). Neither the 830 or the M4 have SF controllers so you're fine either way. The OCZ drive also came with a 5 year warranty, so I was so happy about that. Reviews were also pretty good for this drive, with the newest firmware at least...read and write speeds were up there with the best, maybe even best-of-class. Lastly and most importantly, I was able to get one on Newegg for only $199, including shipping and handling and everything! Easy decision.

Although my system, like yours, houses a SATA II port and can't take full advantage of the SATA III capabilities of the SSD I got, I'm still hoping it maxes out my port's speed. Also when I get another system sometime down the line, it will definitely support SATA III (or whatever version we're on then) and then this drive would shift into gear 4 and fly even more. I'll be setting it up this weekend when I have time, and then I'll truly see what SSDs are all about.

Reagardless of what SSD you settle on, be on the lookout for deals on them as there seem to plenty around (on Newegg, Amazon and such). Good luck with the SSDs, selling the RAM and finding the 6-cell .

I don't think a car power adapter would be enough to supply power for functions more intensive than just viewing web pages:
65-watt: 65-Watt Auto / Air AC Adapter with Power Cord for Select Dell Inspiron / Latitude / Studio / Vostro / XPS Laptops / Precision Mobile WorkStations : Laptop Accessories | Dell

That said, if all you're doing is using it for maps, reading, word processing, then I think you'll be just fine

Anyone know if I can just buy a 1080p screen and just swap it out with my 1600x900?
