Re: *XPS M1730 Problems/Dell Replacement Issues*
Hi, i have recently had a brand new XPS M1730 replacement from Dell but was wondering, i the original version (2 years ago) the physic card was separate card but in today version which is 3-4 different motherboard version away is the physic card installed or are Dell using intergrated physic on the GPU?

Re: *XPS M1730 Problems/Dell Replacement Issues*
Dude, all 8 series and above cards support CUDA PhysX, which is now the new name for Ageia PhysX; Nvidia bought the rights.
To be honest, the Ageia card wasn't needed to begin with because for the most part, the GPUs can handle PhysX even better.
It is a shame though that some of us had to buy into the market crap and pay extra for the Ageia.

Re: *XPS M1730 Problems/Dell Replacement Issues*
update. 2
Been told NO REPLACEMENT SYSTEM. Ive been offered a refund of £2300 plus my gfx card upgrade of £439.54 and my 2 yr warranty extension of £90 i think.
Apparently DELL dont offer Alienware AS REPLACEMENTS for DELL machines lol. Altho i was offered a replacement machine with a balance difference.
ok then whateverAlienware M17x-R2 (Nebula Red) | Core i7 920XM | 4GB DDR3 1333 MHz | 17" WUXGA DUAL CCFL (1200p) | Dual 1GB ATI 4870 in CrossfireX | "160GB" Raid 1 | DELL 1520 WiFi | Win7-64bit Pro

Dell does, or at least they did. Maybe they had a policy change since I got mine.

Re: *XPS M1730 Problems/Dell Replacement Issues*
Ok here we go, 6 months ago i recieved a 1730 for replacement of a 1710 .2 higher processor and sli 512 instead of single 512 card, i was happy, at first..... i am now waiting on 5th graphics card to get here. i feel like dell wants to just keep throwing these broke graphics cards and MOBOs at me till my warranty runs out in Nov. they say i am lucky cause i got upgrade from 1710 already LOL HELP what do i do to make dell admit that this is problem with 1730 and 8700 cards. why are they sending me 5 graphics cards in 6 months and sending other people M17x??? thanks for any input very frustrated of amount of downtime
