Gb Re: *XPS M1730 Problems/Dell Replacement Issues*

So, my XPS M1730 has failed too, along with a seemingly endless list of others.

Seems I need a new 8800 graphics card and screen, which I was told would be fitted two days after my initial call to Dell.

Latest from Dell is that this has been delayed but no new date for repair has been given.

I am covered for almost three more years with on-site warranty so what is the best way to proceed for me now as it seems plain this repair is almost certainly never going to happen having read the experiences of the others on this topic.

Any recommendations of how to proceed would be most appreciated, thanks

Us Re: *XPS M1730 Problems/Dell Replacement Issues*

Well I joined this forum for i am having xps issues. My system is out of warrenty. i have had the motherboard replaced and have had constant issues with the adapter and motherboard. I just had 2 adapter blow within the last 2 weeks. I'm alway unplugging and plugging the adapter to correct power to system. But even that has it limits trying to watch a video that jerky is no fun.
I finally got upset and carpet bomb dell. got a reponse within 24 hrs. they told me since its out of warrenty i would have to pay for repair parts. I told them i have been dealing with this since i've had the machine. it a limon and defective. after repeatly saying this it was decided that they would call back in a week to check laptop once i have a replacement adapter. This will not fix the problem. i'm lost on what to do.

    Sorry, I read that wrong.

But it's all meaningless. The 4670, regardless of how much power you put under the hood, is still a feeble 128-bit card. SLi performance is very good with new drivers. Games run at 60 FPS quite often. Even a single card has much more bandwidth than a 4670.
