Re: XPS Studio 13/16 - rumours / pictures leaked.
Ok, I tried reading through parts of this massive thread, but is the summary that:
1) We hope they will FINALLY announce a new XPS Studio line that is the refresh we all want next week?
2) What does that mean in terms of availability after the CES display?
I _almost_ ordered a HP laptop today and have no real issues with HP other than their support is supposed to be one of the worst (yes, makes Dell look good) and I hate the fingerprint magnet the DV5T, HDX16T, etc. are - otherwise they have everything I want.

Re: XPS Studio 13/16 - rumours / pictures leaked.
1. Most likely the Studio XPS 13/16 will be announced during CES, if not before (i.e. within a week).
2. Most likely it will be available as soon as it's announced or very soon after.

Re: XPS Studio 13/16 - rumours / pictures leaked.
Well, I'm guessing since someone linked a picture that they got from an email from Dell, then it will be somewhat quite soon...but just wondering if they will have at LEAST a 9600M or 9800 hopefully.
I don't really know what is meant by SLI hybrid as I have always avoided SLI like the plague when building my desktops (and the one I have right now with just one card is benched faster than any desktop Dell offers) but maybe for laptops it's ok...

Re: XPS Studio 13/16 - rumours / pictures leaked.
The Hybrid SLI that we think that they are going to include is not really SLI. What Hybrid SLI refers to is the ability for the computer to switch between integrated and discrete graphics so that when browsing the internet or doing other processes that do not require a discrete graphics card the computer can just use the integrated to save power and produce less heat. In the opposite direction, when you play games or use applications that require a better card the computer will switch to the discrete card.

Re: XPS Studio 13/16 - rumours / pictures leaked.
Hyrid SLI means that the GPU and suitable onboard graphics will run at the same time when running games to boost performance.
So you could have 9400m onboard and 9600m GT descrete and the machine would use both when gaming under Hybrid SLI.
Being able to switch between descrete and onboard graphics is a Montevina feature.
