GTA IV on M1530
Hi guys,
just wondering do you have the same problems like me ? I have to turn all details on low and it looks like shi*. Really pis*ses me off that I never get more than 18 FPS.
I have the M1530 2,4GHz 8600M GT 4GB RAM, Windows XP SP3
I know that the M1530 is not a killer gaming machine but it cant be that bad or what do you think ?

Re: GTA IV on M1530
Haven't tried yet, but this game looks to be the new benchmark of PC gaming. Move over, Crysis

Re: GTA IV on M1530
From the looks of it, it should be extremely demanding...but 18fps on everything low (hopefully you turned down the resolution as well) may mean it is more of a driver issue. I see you are running it on xp, this shouldn't be the issue, but after dealing with Far Cry 2 and all of its odd issues, I don't think the idea should be dismissed entirely. P.S. Did you purchase it through Steam?

Re: GTA IV on M1530
No i bought it today from JB Hifi for $79 bucks.
The Driver is usually working fine with everything. Version 178.08
Resolution was 1680x1050 but that was not even 18 FPS so its running now on 1440x900. If thats still to high for my laptop I bring the game back tomorrow because thats bullshi*. For what did I paid $2000 when I cant even play games ,released 7 month later, on low details ? Crap...

Re: GTA IV on M1530
I tried it on 1024x760 and it works fine. The only problem is that my LCD here is a 22" 16:9 so it looks like crap but at least it works.
1280x800 doesnt exist in GTA IV...

Re: GTA IV on M1530
Well, too bad. The minimum GPU required to play is the 7900 GT, roughly equivalent to the 8600M GT. Youre expecting too much, 18fps at WXGA+ is the best you'll go.
MacBook Pro| 2.66GHz | 6GB | 128GB | 15.4in LCD | Snow Leopard 10.6
Asus 1005PE | 1.6GHz | 2GB | 60GB SSD| 10.1in LED | XP/7
Samsung Galaxy S | 1GHz | 512MB | 16GB | 4.0SAMOLED |Android 2.2
Along with the people inside....
What a wonderful, caricature of intimacy

Re: GTA IV on M1530
low res, low details - best to be hoped for.
I don't see why peeps expect more, You bought what was a mid range laptop a year ago, yet you expect games that realistically require decent gaming desktops to run, to work on it.
Seriously - lower the expectations.

Re: GTA IV on M1530
@F1r3ball: fine means how many FPS ? Does the game look really terrible ? Similar to console version ?
