    01 M1530 webcam not working....

Hi all, just had the dell tech round on friday to replace my motherboard, and have since discovered my webcam isnt working.

I get the message "No supported camera detected, please plug in to continue" in Dell Webcam Manager.

Also the webcam does not show up in device manager.

When the system powers on the webcam light does not flash...

So basically, i think he forgot to plug in the webcam to the new motherboard, or its a loose connection, does this sound about right??

If so would it be a reasonably easy job for me to rectify?

I cant really be bothered with going through the hassle of diagnosing the fault with someone over the phone who i cant really understand, then have to find some free time to have the tech come round and fix it, when he will probably mess something else up in the process.

I have the service manual for this laptop (M1530) but cant seem to find anything in there.

If any one knows which cable goes to the webcam or can help out in any other way it will be much appreciated!

    Yeah i've got the manual!

I couldnt seem to find where the cable that leads from the webcam connects to the motherboard?

Or is it bunched together with other cables from the LCD?

    Thanks for your help

I used to have the same problem with my webcam with the same error message. My webcam would disconnect when i opened my screen past 30 degrees, it was very strange. A Dell tech. came and gave me a new webcam so everything is better now..
    GL though.
