    Default M1330 audio over HDMI

Is it true that you have to change a setting everytime you plug your laptop in over HDMI to get the audio to come through the HDMI port vs the default of laptop speakers/3.5mm headphone jack?

Also, I read of problems when playing media with 5.1 audio...does this mean that when I play a DVD through my M1330 and I have it connected via HDMI, the audio isn't going to pass through the HDMI to my monitor/monitors built in crappy stereo speakers?

    THANK YOU!!!!

Yes as far as i know. Its a pain doing it everytime.

You can choose digital out on either your notebook or through the HDMI

I would be interested in donating to a fund for someone to write a small script that would do this either automatically or by a keyboard shortcut.

You can count on $10 from me...I'm sure there are m1330 owners out there that would contrib as well.

Im also interested for that function but instead i just use my Logitech Z3 speakers pluggedi-in my notebook, saves me from switching back and forth. The HDTV audio isnt all that great anyway.

I think there's a "Use as default" radio button you can enable somewhere...

I agree with purplegreendave. I had to setup my Z-10 speakers to be the default sound device via USB. Now it automatically sends the sound through USB whenever I plug in the speakers.
