Dell Time Line Shipping
Hello, i just ordered my i9100 today. Surprisingly it has gone through Order Processsing, Pre-Production, Kitting, Build, and Testing all in one day. The only ones that have not been checked are boxing and shipping. Im just wondering if this is normal. The estimated ship date is still June4, but with my system built and tested awaiting boxing, will i get my laptop sooner than the stated?
Thanks!
i cant wait for my laptop, hope its everything that's been hyped and more!

no expidited treatment for the build of the laptop, however i did get in on the 2day shipping.
i actually had to reorder my system yesterday morning because i found on this site that the coupon had increased to 20% !!! so now i saved 500 bucks on my system, paying the same price, and have a 8X DL DVD Burner
as of this morning i am, again awaiting my system to be boxed and shipped. i guess it only takes the folks one day to build a system.... and one day to box... ::scratches head:: haha anyhow, i cant wait for my 9100 to come in!!!! [

This happened with my 9100 also! But the funny thing was, it took them a whole day to box the friggin thing, but it was shipped the same day as it was boxed (I wonder if it's really one step?). You'll definitely get your laptop soon after the 4th, though the holiday on Monday may slow it up a bit.

My 9100 is due June 4th as well. Still in Boxing mode as of Wed night.
Can we go back to Dell and have them adjust the cost of the laptop if they offer better deals while the order is being processed?

this is exactly what happend to me. i ordered on the 26th with a 10% coupon, but when i woke up on the 27th, there was a 20% coupon available. i called up Dell and they told me to cancel and reorder. its stupid, but they are so mechanized overthere that they cannot make any changes to a system once it has begun. so if you can wait an extra 2 or 3 days, save yourself the money and cancel/reorder your laptop.

n/p glad to help.... i also contacted Dell just now. they say "Boxing" takes from 1 to 2 days to complete. its kinda funny, that boxing takes just as long or longer than building.

That happenned to me too. I saw it the next day for $60 cheaper, and all i could do was cancel and reorder. I don't know where people got the idea that Dell's customer support was any good, i never got to talk to a person. I called them up and pressed 4 for customer support, and they played this recording saying that i have the sasser worm and should get mcafee. ? I didnt even tell them who i was yet!

LOL talk about pre-programmed bugs to keep service dept in business... haha
anyhow, i just talked with another rep who eloqently explained to me that the boxing phase actually means building. i go on to ask when what does build and test mean? he says that Dell puts it together first then tests it. which is what built and test phases are. this means the boxing phase are when they i guess put the components into the laptop (box).
so the shipping phase is the part where they actualy put the laptop into a cardboard box.
im confused, and probably the CS rep is confused too....we'll see how it goes. good luck to all who are awaiting their laptops!
