Post when XPS M1330 ordered and when/if shipped

The fedEx guy just delivered mine about an hour ago, and this thing is absolutely gorgeous!! And I definately have a gigabit port.

There was one problem, and only one. One of the bottom covers, I did have to snap back into place, but other than that, perfect. No CPU whine, not teeth showing, the hinge "gap" is even on both sides, so I believe it is by design, I got all of the correct parts.

Also, I was noticing that my screen was only as bright as my current 600m, so I was kind of dissappointed.....then I realized that the AC adapter wasn't plug in, and I about melted my eyes when it did. This screen is EXTREMELY bright...almost too bright for me in doors.

Ok...but...you did get the replacement and you do get to keep and use that system in the meantime.

So between now and then the only downfall is not being able to use the FPR right?????

And then you got $240 for your trouble.

Before you blow at the CSR manager think about some things. The first and most important is, every day later is another day that quality build issues are fixed. That would mean there may be a distinct advantage to your situation.

Next...you are only getting an estimated build date. The system is entered as an exchange and, as such, knocks itself to the front of the pack because of that. You are in England though and that does leave you at a dissadvantage.

My exchange system was built last Thursday in Malaysia and is on its way to my house right now... It a M1330. Its priority based on the 'exchange' code.

Look forward to your conversation with the manager...many dont even get that opportunity. Approach it as a challenge and ask him/her the tough questions. Dont be afraid to say "This has really put me out here. What would Dell do to ensure that I am a happy and bragging M1330 owner like I should be?"

Especially dont be afraid to ask, "What can Dell do to keep me happy now?"

Hope this helps a bit but I would be so upset if I got to keep a system while another was being built. You are miles ahead of about 80% of us right now...You are writing on it ...right???

You don't have gigabit ethernet, no 1330 does. It's just it shows gigabit when it's idle but when u try connecting to a gigabit port, it'll default to 100mb.

they have only offered me £120 off if i dont ask for a replacement. so thats why i am really annoyed about the whole thing.

yes i do have my laptop and apart from FP reader i dont have any other major issue. i know its not that bad a situation to be in. i will use this till october (lets hope it doesnt take this long) and get a brand new one in october.

to be honest i dont want any money off them, i would love to have an extra year's warranty though.

ah, a quick qestion, when i get my replacement in october the warranty on that starts from october right???

Mine shipped last nightn (officially 8/13), with "Next Business Day" and an estimated arrival of 3-5 days from now. Whats up with that?

What kind of shipping do you have, Rellin? And do they say to expect it tomorrow, or in a few days?

Don't worry about it. If it says Next Business Day you'll get it next business day. Mine said NBD, but the estimated dates were like 5-7 days out. I also never got a tracking number. Even still, i got it NBD. Tomorrow you'll be in the owners lounge.

Nope, it'll be from the original ship date.

Not necessarily, there were plenty of instances when ppl got shafted by Dell and their 1330 were shipped ground instead of promised NBD. mtylerjr, when u get ur tracking #, u'll know for sure.

Ask for the warranty ugrade Kernel!!!!

It costs them nothing to up your warranty but it does cost them $240 this way.

All they have to do is make a small change in your warranty; its painless.

If worse comes to worse ask them to put that money towards a warranty upgrade...

it would mean that my warranty is running out eventhough i dont have the actual product.
