How does TrueSuite compare to Protector Suite? Is it rebranded, or completely new?

I used both with upek USB fp reader.
I preferred upek protector suite much better than truesuite.

Upek is more user-friendly and better overall.

Thanks for your post here! I have followed the instuctions to install both software, and it both works fine; however, if I stop WBF & UPEK Protector Suite and want to use DDPA. DDPA can't find the FPR device(both FPR driver are found in Device Manger), any idea for how to resolve it, thanks in advance.

You only want to disable UPEK Protector Suite. WBF needs to be enabled.

Thanks for your reply.

I followed the instructions, I installed protect suite WBF version, firmware has updated too, and Dell ControlVault WBF driver.

The problem is when I install full DDPA driver, the warning message appears as it detected the other bio software, and it cant intall the included dell controlvault driver and SPBA 5.9 can't istall neither, since then, even if I only disabled the protector suite, I cant use DDPA with FPR as DDPA cant find FPR device, otherwise, the other functions are all fine.

The device manager shows both FPR device, do you know how can I resolve it, thank you.

If DDPA Driver Pack detects Protector Suite, uninstall Protector Suite. I don't recall this being an issue, but Protector Suite must be installed before the DDPA Application Package (otherwise, it will also refuse to install), so you'll need to uninstall everything and start over.

Try this order (it's not the same as the first post):

1. Uninstall Dell ControlPoint Security Manager and Dell Security Devices Driver Pack. Reboot.
2. Update ControlVault firmware to A23. Reboot.
3. Install Dell ControlVault WBF Driver. Make sure WBF is enabled after installation.
4. Install Dell Data Protection | Access Driver Package.
5. Install Dell Data Protection | Access Middleware Package. Reboot.
6. Install UPEK Protector Suite 2011. Reboot.
7. Install Dell Data Protection | Access Application Package. Reboot.
8. Open Dell Data Protection | Access and click Advanced then Access Preferences then "Disable Dell Secure login."
9. Setup UPEK Protector Suite as usual. If UPEK Protector Suite has problems opening Control Center and DDP|A is already installed, repair the Protector Suite installation.

Followed new instruction, but the system refused to install the protector suite after installed DDPA Middleware Package!

The first post works better, only DDPA cannot find the FPR device, I wonder if its the problem caused by driver!!

Uninstall the middleware and install Protector Suite before it. Did the driver pack install successfully?

If DDPA cannot find the fingerprint reader, Protector Suite probably still has control of the fingerprint reader. If secure login is disabled in Protector Suite, DDPA should work after a reboot.

Hi without wanting to hijack it, I would like to ask for some advice on using the AuthenTec TrueSuite with the e6430. So far I have reviewed this and other threads but as it seems specific to the Vostro, I have not been successful in installing the required driver (WBF driver for the Broadcom chip) to expose the finger print reader in the windows control panel biometric dialog.

The device worked with the standard Dell Data Protection Suite however, I would prefer not to use the native Wave software for managing fingerprint access. Rather I would prefer to use the TrueSuite software. May I ask for specific advice on how to go about this?

It should be the same procedure as for Protector Suite, just substitute Protector Suite for TrueSuite. You can use the link to the WBF Driver in the first post, it supports the E6430.
