Does anyone have a NVidia 1000 or 2000M, i would be interested if Optimus works because Dell told me that it would not.

    afhstingray & havoctex,
Thanks for your helpful explanation. I almost exhaust all my questions. I'll finalize my order with Dell tomorrow.

From what I can tell, the 1000M and 2000M have Optimus, but Optimus doesn't work with the RGB IPS display for some crazy reason.

    Oh, okay.

I'm not getting the RGB IPS, so hopefully Optimus will work for me.

Bummer that the back lit keyboard has no ambient light sensor. Is the light on back lit keyboard annoyingly bright in well lit conditions?

Does anybody know what model the mSATA drive is that comes with the M4600? I'm thinking about ordering one up if it is the Samsung PM800. Thanks!

No. As Havotex already wrote you just use Fn right arrow to control it. It will cycle through five brightness settings, one of them off. There is also the Dell System and Devices Manager where you can set it explicitly and also define a timeout after which it will turn itself off if no key is pressed. It will then come on as soon as you hit a key or move the mouse (also settable).

    Cheers

The device manager says: Samsung SSD PM810 mSATA for mine.

Mmmmm, I think that is the one I want, I must've been mixed up. Could you possibly run a CrystalDiskMark test on it and post the results? I would really appreciate it.
