EDIT: Until Dell updates our Intel HD3000 drivers you may find your profile drops after you resume and / or unlock your workstation. @dafunk60 thanks a lot. I had tried with the Color Management before but no success, now installing both the app and the TOOGLE.icc seems to get closer, but even when I select TOOGLE in the app, it just makes the screen change (yellowish) for a brief quarter of a second but then changes back to normal, so no change is visible. Also my profile is not listed in the app even though it is listed under Color Management \ All Profiles \ ICC profiles...

Gents - for those people running windows 8 on their M6600 and have the touchscreen, NTrig have finally released their drivers Grab them from the NTrig website and enjoy.

I've had them installed for about 30mins now and so far (touch wood... or screen) no phantom clicks, multi-touch works now and is silky smooth - in fact it seems perfect and better than the win7 drivers!

    Anyway - enjoy.

    p.s - Windows 8 ftw.

I'm interested in how the "swipe from edge" motions work on the M6600 and Windows 8. i.e., swipe from the left to switch apps or swipe from the right for the charms bar. Does the screen bezel get in the way?

I didn't have any issues with the gestures using the built in drivers. IMO everything in that list works fine with the stock drivers except possibly multitouch, and that I didn't even test. I'll check next time I boot into Windows 8.

now i'm happy with my precision lolz !
It's so smooth so much better than before .. even better than in windows 7!

    p.s : i got both screen Chimei (CMO) and AUO V.5 !
compare to V5, CMO definitely looks bad uncalibrated ! after you calibrated it .. the color is much better now!

I am no expert when it comes to color profiles so don't take my advice as the gospel. That being said, I think you want to set the display profile created with the display calibration device of your choice with the W7 Color Management settings. This will get your display producing relatively accurate colors. Next set your print profile in your graphics software (Illustrator, Photoshop, ect). This will have your graphics software displaying the colors close to what should be printed by the printer. Sorry if I misunderstood your original post. There are many different classes of icc profile. If you click on the Advanced tab of the W7 Color Management settings you can see the class of the profiles installed, scanners, printers, displays and so on. The display profile app only shows the installed profiles with a display class so if the profile is for a specific printer you can't apply it to a display.

I don't use the TOGGLE.icc as simply clicking the name of the already selected profile always reapplies the profile for me, but it sounds like it is working as intended. It is displaying the yellow profile to make it obvious the display profile has changed then reapplying your display profile which was already working to begin with. Perhaps the app was updated after the tutorial was written before it was discontinued.

hi, i can confirm that all single touch and multi touch gestures work perfectly with the new ntrig driver.

Without the driver the touch it problematic. there is no multi touch and frequent "phantom touches" - you can stand back and just watch the screen do silly things.

But dont worry, the ntrig driver fixes everything and works perfectly. Also tbh the bezel doesnt bother me. It takes a few swipes initially to get used to it but after that i rarely have failed attempts. Its fine.

    Sorry, had a busy day.

To the question in hand I did request and AUO panel and the operator was real nice and searched one for me. But it is only sure after I get it in my machine (should be today or monday).

And the operator who I called did see that I already had Chi Mei replaced, and hearing that I have problems again he really did try to help.

My LG had this flickering with Bios A06 amd A07 as well.

There are a few public owned M6600 now in my country, and the last one with LG panel did not have this low light problem with his LG, so it must be fixed now.

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!! I have been checking the N-Trig site nearly everyday since the consumer preview was released hoping to have a fix for the multitouch and phantom touch issues. Now the screen works as expected.
