Default E6520 touchpad scrolling jerky/unreliable anyone?

Hi all! Been a long time since I rapped at ya.

Does anyone else think scrolling with the touchpad on the Dell E6520 is jerky and/or unreliable?

Maybe I'm just used to the Lenovo T400...

If anyone else has experienced this and has a good fix, I would be greatly appreciative of any suggestions.

That's just the way ALPS touchpads work compared to Synaptics. Happens on my E6500 as well.

Good to know. Maybe ALPS will come out with some better drivers. I did notice the latest driver seemed to help a bit over the factory installed driver.

Yeah Alps touchpads have always been bad. Doesn't help that Windows default driver stinks. Usually Dell has Alps driver updates which makes it better, that happened for my Latitude D620.

Errr...not to buck a trend, but I've never had problems with my Dell touchpads, i8600, D400, and now an E6520. Seems to work fine for me.

There were some studies looking at finger conductivity and touchpad/screen sensitivities..... maybe your fingers are the problem?

I only ask because my wife, daughter and I have the identical phones and for those screens, regardless of which phone I use, it seems to not register my fingers very well, whereas my wife and daughter seem to be just fine....
