Re: New Vostro Lineup (3350, 3450..)
It looks like Dell is now offering a "13GB/sec AMD RadeonTM HD 7450M graphics with 160 cores+ ultra-fast GDDR5 memory" graphics card with the 3350. I can't seem to find any information about this card. Anyone know how this compares to the "AMD Radeon™ HD 6630M (128-bit) 1GB" graphics card?

Re: New Vostro Lineup (3350, 3450..)
Just ordered a Vostro 3750 i5-2410M with GT 525M pre-configured today being ship out tomorrow.
Originally I was suppose to go with a Lenovo Y570 with GT 555M but since I need a desktop replacement I reconsidered the Vostro 3750 with GT 525M, Lenovo G770 with HD 6650M and Inspiron 17R with GT 525M since I only game casually (mostly League of Legends). The Vostro 3750 although a bit more expensive than the G770 and Inspiron has everything a want in a laptop (good looks, great build quality, backlit keyboard, 2.1 sound and non glossy display and chassis). The XPS 17 with GT 550M and HP DV7 with HD 6770M were also highly considered but the XPS 17 is too big/bulky and the DV7 does not comes in i5 custom configurations (only i7).
The Vostro 3750 I got comes with 320GB (7200 RPM) and 4GB DDR3-1333 (Single) and Centrino Wireless-N 1030 (with Bluetooth), I will upgrading the hard drive a Seagate Momentus XT 500GB (maybe a WD Black 500GB), memory to Kingston HyperX DDR3-1600 (Dual channel) and Wireless to a Centrino Advanced-N 6205 (2x2 MiMO, no Bluetooth) next week once the laptop arrives.
This is going to be my first Dell, Intel and Sandy Bridge laptop, can't wait.

Re: New Vostro Lineup (3350, 3450..)
Has anyone noticed a high pitched buzzing noise from their vostro? I've had the 3450 for about a week - I love it! But I find it makes a high pitched noise just loud enough to bother me when the room is quiet. It is so distracting, I am considering returning the notebook. I don;t know if it is the infamous CPU whine problem or some mechanical component. When the fan kicks in it seems like it is still there, just drowned out. I wish I could manually set the fan to run a little faster at idle just to drown it out.

Re: New Vostro Lineup (3350, 3450..)
I don't have the laptop yet but it diffidently does not sound right, could be a damaged capacitor on the motherboard. Call up Dell and have it RMA'd if the problem persists because if it is a damaged capacitor it could damage other components in the laptop as well if left un-repaired or replaced.

Re: New Vostro Lineup (3350, 3450..)
I thought the CPU wine is no longer the case for Sandy Bridge. I currently own two SB laptops and can't hear a thing. Since I installed an SSD in my Vostro it's ridiculously quiet - like if it was powered off. Well, maybe except for the fan spinning on occasion

Re: New Vostro Lineup (3350, 3450..)
Ah, thanks for the pointer.
I could also be that the hard drive on the laptop is making a whining sound, I think all New Vostro's come with a Samsung 7200 RPM 2.5" stock: Review Dell Vostro 3750 Notebook - Notebookcheck.net Reviews
Samsung F3 desktop drives are known to have a whining/humming sound this could also be the case for Samsung 2.5" laptop drives that are 7200 RPM, most users do not notice the sound but it's there and has nothing to do with the hard drive being defective or dying. (I have a Samsung F3 1TB desktop hard drive to confirm this is the case)
Download HDTune Free and check to make sure that the hard drive is functioning normal. Defrag your whole system before using the program. http://www.hdtune.com/download.htmlLenovo IdeaPad Y570

Ok, thanks for the suggestions. I'll be contacting Dell asap - I'm still in my 30 day return period, so there should be some good wiggle room.
