Re: Latitude E4300 Owners' Corner
that sucks. I had that problem on an E6500 but not my 4300. I carry mine daily, to the point the back of the screen is starting to get worn smooth from it rubbing in my backpack so much.

Re: Latitude E4300 Owners' Corner
Morning all,
I will be getting one of these bad boys next week, My question is : If I get myself a 9.5mm Blu-ray drive and relavent software will blu-rays play ok?
Also the 12.75mm drives , are they actually 12mm or is it just the bezel which is bigger ? So in theory I could use a smaller bezel?
Laighton.

Re: Latitude E4300 Owners' Corner
I can't think of a reason why the blu-ray disks won't play OK. I've played HD video samples using the Intel GM45 GPU without any problems.
The 12.7mm (1/2") drives are physically thicker (and less expensive). Don't try squeezing one into the E4300.

Re: Latitude E4300 Owners' Corner
I believe I've found the problem here... it seems to be a bad headphone jack "plug in" sensor".
Theory: when the sound vibrates the computer it causes the headphone jack sensor to intermittently think something is plugged in, so it disables the speakers momentarily. If I change the balance on the speakers all the way to the left, the vibrations are far enough away from the headphone jack not to cause the problem. Also, the headphone jacks are on a daughter card, so replacing the system board did not also replace that card.Activation Backup and Restore (ABR) | Clean Vista Install | Screen DPI | RAM Testing w/ Memtest86+ | Where's my disk space? | Accessing HP Recovery Disc Files

Re: Latitude E4300 Owners' Corner
It's a latency problem.
You can check it out here: DPC Latency Checker
All bars should be green all the time.
To fix the problem:
- go to Intel website and get the latest drivers from there AND video card
- go to Dell website and download the latest IDT drivers
- Download & install CCleaner (free): Piriform - Download CCleaner, Defraggler, Recuva, Speccy - Millions of users worldwide!
- uninstall your motherboard drivers, video card, and sound card
- Open CCleaner and perfect a registry clean up.
- Restart your computer
- Install in order: Motherboard, sound card, and then video, and restart your computer in between each driver.
Your problem should be solved.
If it's not a latency issue, try a different music player.
