OMG, has anyone else experienced this? I am living in Ann Arbor, Michigan right now and I placed my order for the Dell E6400 on the 4th. It was scheduled to be shipped on the 19th and was supposed to arrive on the 24-26. However, it was shipped today! and it's going to arrive tomorrow! That's a nine day difference in estimated production time. Is that strange or what?

Commander Wolf ordered his on the 4th, and got his yesterday. Greg and I placed orders on the 5th, and ours have been shipped.

But all these complains about DHL is making me worried. If someone steals my laptop, are they responsible for paying me back? On the DHL tracking page, it said, "signature preferred" for my package, not "signature required." ****, I don't have my cell phone with me so I can't call them to make sure they won't leave it at the door or something.

Most of them have been shipping pretty early. Dell's usually pretty good about that; they overestimate the ship date just like how they raise the price and give you a bigger discount XD

Alrighty, got my order in. Got to deal with a good rep, he was able to get the build I wanted $120 cheaper than a rep I tried with last week, plus he chucked in a additional 90 watt a/c adapter for free!! So far, so good, now just to play the waiting game.

And Added a Dell Travel lite module and free shipping for 1708$. 330$ less is not bad IMO.

The rep cut back on RAM (100$ for 4gb), HDD, free webcam, WXGA+ for 100$, free ship. Almost it. Added a sleeve and Travel lite module for free.

The only thing is I hope I'll get a seagate drive as even though I know they're not the quickest, you simply can't hear 'em .

Oh, and about that poster wondering about PC CARD, Dell still offers the option to order the new lappies with PCMCIA expansion slots. So my advice is to get back the system to Dell or change the order and get the expresscard system as PCMCIA is on the verge of extinction. Mostly all new expansion cards are nowadays express.

BUT I agree having put the option with the video is puzzling...

Oh, and I am wondering; would the cache doubling (P8400 vs P9500) really give a performance edge (excluding the increase in Mhz)? Let say both were 2.4Ghz, what would be the gain going 6Mb over 3?
