    Default E1505 black screen

One of my customers recently had us replace his harddrive and reinstall his operating system. Upon finishing our work, he has been plagued by an issue where the screen will randomly turn to black in the middle of casual internet useage. I highly suspect, given the evidence, that it's a software issue, and possibly one related to Catalyst Control Center. I have Google'd the error code, the symptoms of the error itself, and searched these forums, extensively for an answer. I've tried different drivers. I've tried rolling back to .NET 1.1. Surely, someone on here must know something?

Gpu and cpu, use the same fan, the fins may be getting clogged.

The issue did not exist before we replaced his harddrive, but since we don't use the computer much when the harddrives are failing, it's hard to say for sure. I'm pretty confident that the issue only arose after we reinstalled the OS (XP).

Are you sure it's not a problem with the screen? Does it still work on an external display after the screen goes black?

It does not work on an external display after the screen goes black, forgot to mention.

Passes hardware diagnostics (after replacing the harddrive)

Smart thinking, I'll have to give that a shot. Unfortunately, it sounds like the customer just wants a refund, but I'm certainly not the type who gives up easily.

Forgot to mention, his gpu is the X1400

You haven't stated, but I would make sure it's getting adequate cooling.
