Re: N5110 Bios Mod
Hello N5110.X, can you help me please...
I have the n5110 i7 8gb ram and i use the mod bios 525m to 550m 0,83v, and work perfect, but
how you change via the VBios to transformed into 550M name?
Thank you.Last edited by as6221417; 13th November 2011 at 09:33 AM.

Re: N5110 Bios Mod
You will have to edit some driver inf file to rename it.
The driver reads the device ID from the VBIOS and then checks from its driver files which graphics card name it is equal to. Change that and you have your 550M
But it is not worth the trouble...
I COULD try changing the device id in the VBIOS to the 550M but YOU will have to test if that works will you? I can't promise you will come out of there well. But I will need some testers.

Re: N5110 Bios Mod
I edited the inf files in the driver and I got GT 550M ..
It's not worth messing with the VBIOS , and I think the adapter name is on chip not via the VBIOS .

Re: N5110 Bios Mod
I am not. The GT-525M is uber-stable at 0.83v. You can do pretty much anything at that voltage.
I could try making a 0.82v VBIOS mod for saving extra temperature if you want or maybe even lower.

Re: N5110 Bios Mod
Oh okay , I'm comforted now .. I want my laptop to be stable , I'm using GT 550M 0.83v right now with no issues ..
Thank you again
EDIT : I don't think 0.82v is worth it , 0.83v is perfect !

Re: N5110 Bios Mod
You could try changing the name to GTX550M or GT 550M ?!
This will completely change the chip to 550M !
