Dell Inspiron 15r N5110 graphics card help
So I just received the new Inspiron 15r N5110 from dell specs are:
Core i5 2410M second gen
4GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz
640GB2 SATA hard drive (5400RPM)
1024MB NVIDIA® GeForce® GT525M
I am slightly confused about the graphics card it's meant to be the GT525M but when i go into system specs it says its a Intel(R) HD Graphics Family with only 64mb of dedicated memory when its meant to be 1GB.
It also says the graphics card is a Intel(R) HD Graphics Family when i use cpuid and other applications.
But when i go into device manger under display adapters it says GT525 is there.
So is the graphics card enabled or I am I just using the integrated graphics alone?
PS: I've played crysis, cod4, halo 2 and they work fine on medium to high settings.
Thanks

That would be Optimus at work. Do you have all the latest drivers?

Re: Dell Inspiron 15r N5110 graphics card help
Basically when Windows detects you aren't using your GPU for intensive tasks it will switch to the Intel GPU to save you battery/heat. But there are many documented issues with Optimus. That's why I asked if you tried the latest Nvidia/Intel drivers. Sometimes it will ship with old drivers.
