Dead hard drive = bye bye vista?
So back in '08 I bought the laptop in my signature. It came with no OS CD and that hasn't been a problem until now.
My hard drive is starting to give in, computer freezes randomly, clicking sounds everywhere, and many files are becoming corrupted. I already backed up everything that's important to me and am about to buy a new hard drive, but what's gonna happen to my vista install?
I went to this site and filled out the form, but after submitting it sent me back to this page. I don't know if that means the disk are on their way or what.
If dell.com fails me, how can I reinstall vista again?if it was on the internet, it would have smiley faces!

Chat with Dell online and explain your situation. You should have received recovery disks though, so that's a oddity.

Thanks booboo12, I was about to do that but about an hour after I posted here I got an email from dell:
and also told me I'll be getting the disk in 3-5 days so I think its all good now.We experiencing unexpected high email volume these days that might have delayed the response to your request for assistance
Thumbs up!!if it was on the internet, it would have smiley faces!

Re: Dead hard drive = bye bye vista?
I don't mean to hi-jack this thread at all, but seems as though we are talking about similar things, why bother making a new thread? Anyway, where do I go about getting Dell Recovery CD's for my notebook (in sig) keeping in mind im from Australia. I've had a look around, but can't really find anything. I won't call them up because I'm scared of the phone
Any ideas?

You can either chat with them or email them. Just tell them you would like the recovery CDs for your system.
