Sure if you can post the codecs then please do so.
Supposedly they do have an option to disable, but they don't clarify it very well. And I haven't been able to get it to work very well. Besides putting your boot drive up top. You can highlight the other drive and press Shift + 1. That will put and exclamation point by it. From their help menu that says it disables it, but I don't think so.

I will get the codecs in a zip file and try to post them on the other topic.

Yup, I tried this...and it doesn't work. Think maybe it could be a BIOS issue? If Dell would take a look at this, they might change something in a BIOS update.

thanks team I got everything up and running, those drivers worked nicely. The optional sound one was flagged by a couple of different antivirus apps, so I didn't install that one, but everything aside from 1394 works nicely. As far as dual booting, could you have XP drive as your primary boot device, then have another line in your boot.ini pointing to your 7 drive? That way you can just pick whatever you want when booting instead of changing things in the bios or picking a boot device with F12.

I scanned the SRS Audio file with Kaspersky Internet Security 2010, and Norton Internet Security 2010. They didn't report any virus's of any kind. Which programs did you use?

Knight could probably answer this question a little more precisely.
However, this is how I'm doing it. I have 4 WD's. All 4 of them are WD Black Series. I installed XP, Vista, and Win 7 on 3 of them. The fourth drive is in HD2, and used as a "Storage" drive. It doesn't have an OS on it, and is used for temporary storage. When I want to use one of the 3 Operating Systems, I just switch out the HD1 bay.

Trend Micro OfficeScan flagged it, which was the main one, and some small-time AV flagged it that I've never used before... It's quite possible its a false positive, but being paranoid never hurt anyone... too much...

    Hey Furfa,

You can do dual booting. Although I am not sure about the diff between using 32bit XP and 64bit 7. But I have done it with Vista. Personally I don't care for it, because it adds more time to the boot up. But If you choose to do it, you will need to have both drives installed at the install of XP or 7. You just need to reinstall one of them with the other drive installed as well.

I happen to use XP more than anything so I like being able to just go to the Bios to switch, just because I leave in on XP most of the time.

Working right now on seeing what programs will work with 7.

Update. I did purchase and add the Bluetooth 365 on my Studio. Works great. Next upgrade will be the processor.

Let us know how it goes Furfa.

Here is the official link from Dell's website for the Studio 1745 for the quickset update (version 9.6.6, A00) that finally fixed the eject button (mechanical button next to F12 key and also the capacitive touch sensitive button)! Dell tech support person was useless. Flashing bios made no difference to solving eject problem. http://support.dell.com/support/down...&fileid=325365

Locky, this won't install on XP Pro SP3.

I unscrewed the botton of the 1745, 1) where did you get the 365 module, and where did you install it? 2) do you or anyone know if a video card could be added instead of using the intel onboard graphics?

    thank you.

From my understanding, you can't change out the graphics card because the integrated graphics is soldered to the motherboard.
