How to disable MediaDirect autostart in Vista?
I have Studio 1535. Everytime I insert a DVD it autostarts MediaDirect and play. I just want it to popup Windows autorun menu with MediaDirect on it and other options. Is there anyway to do this? I've noticed because of this, whenever I insert a software CD, it takes much longer to start the disc's autorun. It seems like the system is scanning to see if the disc I inserted is a DVD or not to start MediaDirect.
Also, why when I touch (and briefly hold) the MediaDirect button w/o powering on, it doesn't start MediaDirect? Actually it does display MediaDirect screen for few secconds then switch to booting up Vista. It should let me play DVD w/o having to logging into Vista. This happens whether I already have a DVD inside the drive or not. My laptop's MD's version is 4.

Re: How to disable MediaDirect autostart in Vista?
hello, not to open the MD goals when you have a DVD as follows: Start -> Control Panel -> AutoPlay -> DVD Movie -> choose which program you want to open the DVD.
With regard to your second question, I was researching and asking until I found out that the DELL MEDIA DIRECT v. 4.0 and can not be opened without loading the operating system, could only do that until version 3.0 but you can not install on your Studio 1535 by incompatibility of the BIOS, that's what I was told in Support via chat DELL .
