nvm i fixed it...i would recommend the instructions found at http://wickmanstudios.com/content/view/17/29/

I don't know much about computers and that guide worked like a charm for me.

I still have a problem with my graphics card, I have installed drivers using catalyst, but when I check my settings it says the card is 512mb(problem)?

Thats not the real issue, just saying that if as info, the issue is:

I play games on my studio 15, WoW and CS, the thing is, whenever there is some big graphic thing, ESPECIALLY foggy stuff in the game, i get incredible lag, like everything is delayed.

For example, the SMOKE in CS makes me lag brutally and have 2 sec delay on everything I do. I mean the smoke on CS my computer from 5 years ago with 128mb graphic card doesnt lag in, and also this problem wasnt in vista, so there's something im missing in XP.

Its only this messing my gaming up, is there anything I am missing? except for that i have lots more FPS etc because of XP.

    Dimen:
512mb GPU RAM: The Radeon HD3450, like all current GPU, use Turbocache/Hypermemory. The card carries 256mb of dedicated RAM and borrows another 256mb from the system RAM when under XP. Under Vista, it dynamically borrows more or less depending on the need. (Under XP, it's fixed to borrow only 256mb)

Foggy lag: I dont know for sure, but I believe it's how the Radeon HD3450 handles particles-not very well. I play few games and they run fine when I shut off/turn down the particle effects.

Has anybody had any luck getting HDMI Audio working? I've installed all the drivers, but I can't get HDMI flowing. I've got the AMD 3450 card.

So gaming would take a big hit on XP compared to Vista?

I can't really speak for the HD 3450, but I have a Studio 17 (it has the HD 3650) and the 3DMark score in XP was 30% higher than in Vista. Gaming isn't particularly an issue. I play Left 4 Dead every weekend on it. Runs like a top.

Anyone else having problems with the SD card reader?

Everytime i plug in an SD card the system Blue Screen's on me. This is running XP. So far iv'e tried these 2 versions of drivers..

    v3.54.05

    and

    v3.51.01

one thing, During trying different drivers I once plugged in my SD card while no drivers were installed, the system still BlueScreened on me.

The first thing I did when getting the system was wipe-off Vista. I dont know if this Ricoh card reader works or not in Vista, but im starting to wonder if I have some sort of hardware problem.

I haven't had any trouble with the card reader... maybe reload Vista and see if the card reader still gives an error? Sounds like it might be bad hardware...

I'm having R188094.exe as my driver from the dell site. That's version v3.54.05 which you are referring to. I have no problem on my machine using that driver so I could be possible it's bad hardware..
