Enable hardware sound?

Hi,
I'd like to know if there is a way to enable hardware sound in games like FEAR, BF2, Neverwinter Nights 2, etc with the onboard sound. Also does the onboard sound card supports EAX 2?

With the default drivers that I got with my notebook, only some games recognized hardware and EAX (BF2142, but not guildwars). When I updated to the newest listed on the bizcom website I got HW and EAX in every game I've tried. Also some nice options in the software added. No EAX2 though.. need an certain audigy series card or higher.
