Default Reviving your dead Compal IFL90 / FL90 by reflowing the GPU

    Hi
I know that there is s few spelling mistakes in this guide. To start I didn't spell 'reflow' correctly. It'll be nice if you point me to the other mistakes so I could correct them later.

I was with you up to filing the gpu, that has me nervous. Even though I understand why since the gpu would have resettled from the heat.
I would probably try the penny mod at that point. Glad to know it worked for you.

I didn't file the GPU... I'm not that crazy

I actually filed the areas of backplate (highlighted in gree); you know where the srcews go to force the heatsink to sit at a lower position. I could have lapped the heatsink instead but since I might have to replace the GPU in the future I preferred not to do the lapping.

Is there a trick to removing and then replacing the cable from point 15: the USB board cable ?

I just pulled it out. but when i tried to put it back in it did not really sit as neatly as before. Do i need to open the plastic thing mounted on the motherboard or something to set back the cable ?

    BTW, nice guide

No. you just have to push the plug back in it's socket.
