FL90 webcam
Hi,
I had some problems installing my webcam. It would first install the driver, and then AFTERWARDS recognize it as new hardware and ask to install it. I tried everything. From installing it the second time it asked from using different driver (incl the 5.8.9.2, which claims to solve the exact problem i have).
Every time i tried to install my webcam, something went wrong with starting up gaming. An initlializating error or so. Anyway, everytime i tried to install it, i had to format.
So now, three formats later I am wondering about something. Could it be that service pack 2 was required to install? Right now i got my laptop fully functional with a lot of programs, games, pictures etc, stuff i don't want to lose again. But still, the webcam not working.
What I'm asking for here is: Can someone confirm that my quessing is correct? Is SP2 really required (i have it installed now, and no i won't "try it out" once more
)? And could i then try again without having any risks on errors?
So: Is service pack 2 for windows XP 32 bit required to install the webcam?
thx in advance !

Re: FL90 webcam
I'm not sure about which is required, but is there ANY reason for not wanting SP2? Its easy to build it into the windows CD now, and there's really no reason not to have it

Re: FL90 webcam
Did you install the chipset driver (bus enumerator & usb driver) and restart before installing the camera driver??
It can happen that windows doesn't recognize the camera if there are no USB port drivers on some systems. The camera should appear as unknown device before the driver installation.
Maybe you have a bad or poorly connected usb cable that connects the camera?

Re: FL90 webcam
it seems to be working fine with WIN XP, it's supported for WIN XP sp1 & sp2.
Have you tired installing it by using the setup, or by selecting the driver manual when installing the device form the device manager list."The one and only RePaRaQu"

Re: FL90 webcam
the first time i do it with the setup from the driver, then after the driverinstall when it says "new hardware found", i install it again using the windows thingy, by selecting the installfile manually

Re: FL90 webcam
It is an integrated camera:no cable
It is not possible to install manually cause as it is detected as unknown device when you point the folder that contains the drivers, it says there is no driver found for the device
I have already tried to reinstall the chipset drivers :nothing
It works when it wants.

Re: FL90 webcam
install the chipset driver first, then install the cam driver.
Make sure to have sp2 installed before installing the cam driver.
The cam app is just for fun."The one and only RePaRaQu"
