Asus NB Probe
Will the Asus NB Probe utility work for non-Ensamble Asus laptops such as the Z96J? Also, does anyone know how to remove the Realtek Audio Control icon/software without removing the drivers for the sound card? I tried uninstalling them and it removed the drivers along with it.

Re: Asus NB Probe
Does the NB probe exist on the A8JS? I didn't find the app on the driver cd? (oh, and what does it do?)
Not to Hijack the thread, but if Realtek doesn't provide an option to hide the icon in one of it's preference settings, then your best bet is to have windows force hide that icon (right click on the task bar->properties->hide inactive icons -> customize)

Re: Asus NB Probe
Well, I gave NB Probe a shot. Everything except the temperature gauge and the fan speed readings seemed to work fine. The temperature registered as "FATAL" with a reading of 429070294 °C !!
Mobometer only registers about 46 °C. Guess I will have to stick with that one.

Haha... 429070294 degrees Celsius is likely hotter than the sun...
Yeah, Asus NB Probe is usually only good for older Asus notebooks...Apple MacBook (MB061LL/B) | 13.3" WXGA | Intel C2D T7300 2.0 GHz | 2 GB DDR2-667 RAM | Intel GMA X3100 | Combo Drive | 80 GB 5400RPM 8M | Airport Extreme | Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR

Re: Asus NB Probe
Is there a utility out there that will allow me to control my fan?

Re: Asus NB Probe
Fan Speed will do the trick.... just remember if you don't know how to use it, you could void your warranty...... if you tell the system to slow the fans down too much, the system could overheat and you could kill your cpu or gpu... just watch out and know what you're getting into before hand and you should be ok.

Re: Asus NB Probe
I tried fanspeed and it looks like it can't detect my fan. I see the temperatures, but that's about all it does. I have an A8ja.
