Hello! As the title say, My Asus ux32vd seems to have some issues going on with random fan noise/Speed. It dosen't happend that often, sometimes it can go hours and sometimes it just happen right after wakeup / or turn on. I think It is software related or bios. But I can figure it out. Ive been searching on the internet for a looong time but could't get any answer and asus support couldnt help me either. Anyone here know a fix

Re: Asus ux32vd random fan speed!
The Intel Dynamic Platform & Thermal Framework enables rules for the thermal policies. Either you have an active policy which allows the fan to spin up or you have a passive policy which leaves the fan on a low rpm and reduces processing power.
By the way: I had the problem sometimes on my 206 bios, too. Then I switched to 209. Now its totally gone with all installed drivers.

Re: Asus ux32vd random fan speed!
The problem come back also without intel dynamic thermal framework, then I reinstalled it. I already have 209 bios. I noticed a strange thing, normally the random fan starts only sometimes, but always when I monitoring it with speedfan. If I just stop speedfan it start to work normally again. In my pc this problem is not so evident because the speed of fans also when is erratic is about 3000 and I can't recognize it so easy. Is much louder sometimes after the standby.
Can u take a shot of your installed drivers and post here? Have u solved also the problem after standby?

Re: Asus ux32vd random fan speed!
I installed everything following this guide. I used the latest drivers downloaded from the asus homepage. It was a bit tricky to install the WLAN driver correctly, but after installing the .Net-Framework v4, then installing the WLAN completely and then installing Wireless Conole 3 in the version before the latest version, everything works perfect. I have no problem after standby. My fan stays calm in every situation (except under high load).

Re: Asus ux32vd random fan speed!
When I remember correctly, the problem was only when factory installed. After reinstalling on the iSSD and even with 206 all noises were gone. The 209 did not change anything. I used Win 7 64 Pro for the reinstallation.

Re: Asus ux32vd random fan speed!
A question, what utility from Asus have u installed? Do u use power4gear or the asus utility update? After I've uninstalled power4gear the pc wake up from standby just lifting up the screen and the fan doesn't start at maximum speed anymore. Before I've normally to wake up it pushing the power button.

Re: Asus ux32vd random fan speed!
I use power4gear and Asus Update, just like mentioned in the guide. The only tools I installed additionally are the Wireless Console 3, because I wanted FN+F2 to work correctly, and the splendid video tool, just because I was curious about it.
