Not exactly. The one with DDR3 has more CUDA core than the GDDR5 version, so the performance of DDR3 should be better.

No, both have 144 cuda cores, the only version that has less cuda cores (96) is the one that have Lenovo

P2542 will have dual (2) cooling vents. Asus N56 only has one, so i believe heat wont be too much of an issue with P2542. It will cost around $1350 in US, probably around $1200 in taiwan (where i am getting from), so i guess its not everyone's notebook

Heat issues can be related to the thinness of the notebook. Even with multiple heatsinks and moderate CPU/GPU temperatures, the surface/bottom of a notebook can get uncomfortably warm. It may not be a concern with the Gigabyte P2542G though, since the heatsinks appear to large.

They can't do that because the GTX line of graphics cards go into their gaming laptops. Also, they can't really put a really high end, GTX, card into a thin laptop because it will cause too much heat, which is why gaming laptops are so thick and bulky.

the Gigabyte P2542G looks a lot thinner than the asus n56. It has a gtx660.
