Hello guys, i just got an asus k53E. It has the following specs:

I got as far as installing and running the software on a system which doesn't officially support WiDi, but no further: Wireless Display

Re: widi support on my asus
so it doesn't stream? What was your hardware config most specifically wifi card.
Edit1:Just followed your link and currently reading it.
Edit2: So do you think it should work? Which one do i buy from intel's official webite? I mean the list of supported wifi cards.

Re: widi support on my asus
After a bit of going through Google search results, I couldn't find anything too specific about requirements for the wireless cards.
For 1080p video support, I only found the following snippet:
and the following for Intel wireless cards:Requires use of a 2011 Generation 2 TV adapter, a notebook based on an Intel® 6 series chipset, and Intel® HD Graphics Driver version 15.22.xx or later.I suppose it would be best to get one of the wireless cards that comes with the 2nd generation Sandy Bridge Intel CPUs which is probably the cards in the bottom half of the list.Intel Centrino® processor technology (supported on 13.3 Production driver or later)

Re: widi support on my asus
Thanks. I was looking at the intel wireless n 1030. A reliable one from a reputable seller from the US is $29.99 on ebay. I think i will go for it. One thing is bothering me though. What is the difference between single band and dual band cards? Does this mean the stream speed will reduce when browsing on the net and streaming movies to my tv using widi? The reason i was looking at the wireless n 1030 is its bluetooth support.
Also do you notice a difference between these 2 listings? They seem to be the same to me.
